Dia de los muertos



Dia de los muertos is a holiday celebrated in Mexico, America, and Canada. Dia de los muertos means "the day of the dead", in spanish. This is a gathering when families come together, pray for, and remember their dead family members. This holiday occurs on November 1st and 2nd. There are a lot of things traditions people do. Traditions include building private altars which honor the deceased, using sugar skulls, marigolds, the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts. The people have fiestas and commemerate their lost, loved ones. This is an extremely important festival in Mexico and Latin America.
